Disappointing Experience with GE Dishwasher

I had this dishwasher installed when I bought my house, and after a while, it suddenly stopped working. I called in a technician, who diagnosed a faulty control board. He quoted me $400 to replace the part (including parts and labor). What's even more frustrating is that the technician mentioned he™€™s seen this exact issue with this model in several other homes. Given that the replacement costs more than the dishwasher itself™€"$391™€"it feels like a major oversight. Clearly, this control board is defective, and I™€™m very disappointed that GE did not properly test this model before releasing it. I expected better reliability from such a well-known brand.

GDT635HSMSS Dead to the world

After about 3 years of use, my GDT635HSM0SS started beeping occasionally and displaying erratic behavior into it's decent to total failure....no display or function. It was good until it wasn't but 3 years is not a good testimonial for durability. I am disheartened by all the similar complaints for this model and the lack of quality accountability that the new corporate owners of GE Appliances use in their business model.

After owning for 3 years my dishwasher will not turn on, after seeing the other complaints™€¦ the product has clearly defective control board ™€¦ the company leadership does not care about their products so why should I care about buying anything from GE? I also had to replace my ge microwave when the magnetron burnt out.. just terrible quality control .. god forbid this same quality management goes into aircraft engines

Literally the worse dishwasher I've ever had. I moved into a home and all the appliances were GE but must have been builder grade products purchased in a bulk haul because many of my neighbors including myself had the products to malfunction between 3-5 years of use. I had a total of 3 appliances all made by GE and GE profile to all malfunction within 3 years of living in the home. My GE profile refrigerator, the dishwasher, the microwave and now my garbage disposal which could be related to the dishwasher malfunction. It sucks that products are not built to last longer than 5 years anymore.

I™€™m having the same issue as everyone else! My fisher just kept beeping then turned off. I reset the breaker to get it back on a few times now it completely does not work! Is there a free fix or recall for this. Ridiculous.

Door will not latch and problem with sensor

Ge service came and replaced my door latch but same issue rises while running dishwasher stops and the door is opening.Seems that three years is the beginning of electrical issues. Apparently there is some defect on the panel. GE should address this issue for customers and replace the defective part without charge when the issue arises.

Terrible product - had issues 6 months in that the GE service repair man admitted GE built the dishwasher wrong/used faulty parts. Then just after 2 years the dishwasher completely failed and gushed water all under my kitchen island destroying everything. GE doesn™€™t build quality appliances and doesn™€™t offer any sort of customer service when their appliances completely fail (they blame you for using them).

FTD System Issue

This dishwasher is less than 3 years old and was doing great until about a month ago. Screen started to read. FTD (Failure to drain) but plumber says all lines are clear and it should be draining. Because I™€™m out of warranty now I have to get a new dishwasher because servicing this one is going to cost just as much as a new one. Avoid GE!!

Doesn™€™t clean dishes, do not recommend

Consistently leaves residue and food particles on dishes. I always have to wash them again after they go through a 2 hour clean cycle in this thing. We rinse the filter once a week, add rinse aid 2x per week, and don™€™t overload. It doesn™€™t matter if we pre-rinse or not. It™€™s also incredibly noisy. Terrible product

My house was built in 2019 and two of the four GE appliances have failed in 32 months. The microwave failed and was replaced under warranty. Now the dishwasher has failed and it™€™s out of warranty. I was quoted $500 to have it repaired.

This started out as a great appliance but it stopped working like 1 year and 10 months after moving into my brand new house . I™€™m about to go to lowes and pick up the new one I just bought. Very sleek on the outside and the inside is nice too (stainless steel inside as well). I like that the top row has 3 height settings and the lower level layout is great. I don't like the upper level as bowls don't fit in there well at all. It also has a lot of great options when it comes to customizing your wash - it has all the bells and whistles. Lastly, as I stated, it's much louder than I thought a new dishwasher would be - it came with our new house, so I won't complain - just a fact.
